I Pray Because Prayer Makes a Difference

Hey Everybody,
"I Pray Because Prayer Makes a Difference”

Unity’s cofounder, Charles Fillmore defines prayer as “conscious communion with God.” He doesn’t define it as asking for something. The purpose of prayer is to consciously connect ourselves to the Source of our being. When I am consciously connected to my Source, there is a noticeable difference in the way I think, the words I say, and the way I do things. My reactions to life are very different than when I stay unconscious.

When I was a little boy, I would often ask my older brother where he was going. His response was almost always, “Crazy, want to come?” I always thought that was funny, but in today’s times, too many are going crazy and they are willing to take others with them. They are going crazy because they don’t have an honest, conscious connection to their Source. There are so many distractions that it is easy to become confused and start to think the world is our Source. The world is the outpouring of our thoughts. Let’s change our thoughts so that we may change the world.

I encourage all of us to begin, continue, and advance our prayer life so that we may see correctly, hear correctly and react in kindness and compassion and joy.

“Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with ME.”

Thank you,

Rev. Shawn
