God In The Midst- 10th Annual Summer Retreat

To Register, download this .pdf registration form by clicking HERE or call the office at 203.855.78922.

On August 5th through the 10th we are taking time away from our regular activities to come together as individuals and as a group for the rediscovery of our spiritual selves.

Each of these days has been conceived to awaken our spiritual minds to what is True about ourselves and to forget what isn’t true.

We will start our days with deep, Twelve Power meditation and then we will join in fellowship for breakfast.   We’ll begin our morning sessions in song, which is praying with music.  Then, Rev. Shawn and Rev. Heidi will help to facilitate our remembering of God, Love, Life, Wisdom and Understanding and all that is natural to what and who we Really are.  Our mornings will be shared in the large group and in small groups.

Lunch takes us deeper into fellowship and knowing our community.  Then, the afternoon session is led by David Friedman for exchanging our thoughts about our musical selves and how we may express ourselves through Voice.  Many of us used to think that we could not sing at all and now so many are singing publicly (myself included.)  Others have walked away from this experience knowing they can sing on tune and they are wildly empowered because of it.   No one has experienced these afternoon sessions with David and walked away empty-handed or disappointed.  Everyone is richer whether they have sung or witnessed all of the ones who did sing.  Remember, even the professionals have doubts.

Even the few hours of free time each day provide an opportunity for reflection and fellowship.  Several have walked away from this time with life-long friends.

After dinner, the evening sessions with Rev. Shawn and Rev. Heidi continue to deepen what has already begun.  On Tuesday evening we will have a great ceremony that leads into a burning bowl experience and a walk into twenty-four hours of Silence.  If you haven’t already experienced this, imagine twenty-four hours of the absence of noise and the invitation of the Divine Voice within.

Wednesday includes guided meditations and continued Silence until finally, after our Silent dinner, Kenneth leads us out of the Silence with a drum circle.  After, there is plenty of time for sharing our Silent experience.  Thursday morning continues with Rev. Shawn and Rev. Heidi.  The afternoon continues with David Friedman and Thursday evening is our Cabaret Night, where everyone who wants to can perform.  It is a great night with laughter and some tears.

Friday we finish with sharing and gratitude and a beautiful ritual for departure.

Please consider if you are to join us for this week of discovering or rediscovering GOD IN OUR MIDST.  I have attached a registration form.  Register now to save your space with your non-refundable deposit of $100.00 and then you have until July 1st to finish paying.  By all means, reach out to the Unity office with any and all questions.  We want to make this easy for everyone.
