Christ-ist Living Series - Week Five: “Love Yourself”

Hey Everybody,
Christ-ist Living Series
Week Five: “Love Yourself”

Continuing in our “Christ-ist Living” series, (If you don’t know what that is, go back and read the first two weeks) we must love ourselves.  “But how, Shawn?  How can I love myself?”

We can start by interrupting the unloving dialogue we have with ourselves.   Anytime you find yourself saying that you are less than a beautiful child of a loving God, interrupt yourself.   It’s not true, so stop lying.

Any time you tell yourself that you are “ugly,” “stupid,” or any other of those unkind names that children call each other, realize that you are lying.  God’s beloved child couldn’t be less than God’s beloved child.  When you look into the mirror each morning, acknowledge your God-presence in the reflection.  Doing that is so loving.  You are worthy of the Kingdom and you don’t have to earn it…you just have to be willing to see it.

One might ask, “How will I know when I’m willing?”  Simple; you will see it.  We cannot see what we are not willing to see.

I made a suggestion to a friend the other day that he interrupt his thoughts about his perceived problems and have a thought of God instead.  He responded how that was a great idea and he would do it, “because when I have this problem, then I start to forget…”  I interrupted him and said, “Now you’re talking about the problem again.”  He got it.  Here’s the thing, if you are focused on your problems more than you are focused on God, Spirit, Principle, etc,…, it doesn’t mean you are not lovable; it’s just that you have forgotten to love yourself.  When we forget to love ourselves we open the door to all sorts of temporary conditions that can be really painful and inconvenient.

If you don’t actively love yourself, how can you love your children, your friends and family, your pets, the world, and anyone or anything else that needs to be loved by you?  You can’t.

Once again, I am reminding that I have been posting a Facebook live video every afternoon (2PM EST) where I read something from one of our New Thought antecedents about metaphysical healing.  I encourage you to go to my page and listen to them, and then I encourage you to do your own investigation about spiritual healing for yourself and all beings.  Try out the suggestions and practice the ones that work best for you.  Love yourself so much that you would be willing to heal, spiritually, mentally and physically.

Let’s open to the healing of the world, by loving it into wellness. You may have to change some habits if you are to have your healing and allow the world to heal.

Pray as often or more than you wash your hands.  We all need to pray and meditate first thing in the morning.  Start with, “Thank you.”  Look into the mirror and say, “Hi God!”  End the day with “Thank you.”  What could be more loving to yourself than giving yourself a loving God?

In Christ-ist living, KNOW the Truth and KNOW that in loving yourself, you are being set free.

The Christ In Me Beholds the Christ In You,
